Photography, a 22-year long devotion of my life, is my curiosity, passion, aspiration, my way of connecting with the past. Photography represents my efforts to understand the present, even the future and countless other things.
In this photo, my grandfather and namesake, Samuel Kohen, holds his beloved Lupitel 2 camera. His auto-portrait, taken in front of the mirror leaps in time, reaching out to today and the future. I carry his passion for photography the same way I carry his name.
Uncovering photographs that remained hidden or forgotten in my archives and witnessing the shifts in my vision throughout the years was the push behind my decision to build this website.
